David Shaw: 一個科學家和金融巨頭的傳奇
David Shaw 的傳奇跨越了計算機、金融、生物、化學等多個領域。David Shaw 大學畢業於UC San Diego, 1980年在Stanford獲得博士學位，畢業後在 Columbia 大學計算機系任教。1986年 David Shaw 進入華爾街，當時Morgan Stanley 用他助教的六倍人工招攬這位科學奇才，希望他能用計算機技術進行自動投資，例如用 mathematical techniques 去找出 underpriced stocks。1988年，David 成立了自己的對沖基金 D.E. Shaw & Co, 是被 Fortune Magazine 稱為 “the most intriguing and mysterious force on Wall Street”， 而David Shaw 本人也被稱為 “King Quant”。他的基金利用高速計算機網絡和市場瞬間的有效性缺陷來進行高頻統計套利，是quantitative trading 的先行者。當DE Shaw基金發展越來越大的時候，David決定重返科研，在2001年成立了 D.E. Shaw Research, 自己擔任首席科學家全職做科研，開發了Anon 超級計算機，同時在蛋白質折疊和分子動力學方面取得多項標桿性成就。
Jeff Bezos：從對沖基金到世界首富
相信大家對 Jeff Bezos 這個名字一定不陌生，他就是網上購物平台巨頭 Amazon 的 Founder 和 CEO，2019年開始登上全球富豪榜榜首，2021年以身價 1770 億美元 在 Forbes 富豪榜中名列前茅。可是大家知道原來他也在剛才提及的頂級對沖基金 D.E. Shaw 工作過嗎？Jeff Bezos 從Princeton 畢業後在 Bankers Trust 工作過，他在1990 年就成為了 D.E. Shaw senior VP，年僅三十歲成為了D.E. Shaw 最年輕的 VP。 1994 年 Jeff Bezos 搬去了西雅圖開始了他 e-commerce 的創業之路，從開辦網上書店作為起點開創了網上購物的先河。他在1995年成立了Amazon，Amazon也在1997年上市，直至今日也是美國FAANG 科技股的重要成員。
William Shu: 從Morgan Stanley IBD 到 Deliveroo 創辦人
大家可能對 William Shu 這個名字感到陌生，但是大家肯定知道他所創辦的外賣公司 Deliveroo （相信大家都有用過吧），可是你們知道他畢業後是從 Investment Banking 開始做起的嗎？William 在2001年從 Northwestern University 畢業，他畢業的第一份工作就是在 Morgan Stanley 做 IBD Analyst。隨後 William 分別在不同基金公司工作過，包括 ESO Capital 和 SAC Capital （Steven Cohen創辦的傳奇 hedge fund，電視劇Billions就是以這個作為藍本， 大家可以去看我們之前關於金融電影/電視劇的instagram post!)。William 在2013年在 London 創辦了 Deliveroo，他的想法來源於他在Morgan Stanley London office 工作的時候，每天工作到很晚卻沒有什麼外賣的選擇。現在 Deliveroo 已經在世界各地超過兩百個地方提供服務 ，更在2021年3月31號在 London Stock Exchange 上市。
